Son Reus Mallorca – Dog, Cat and All Animals Rescue Centre

We have ‘first hand’ experience of Son Reus Dog and Cat Rescue Centre having found our treasured two dogs here..

We were very skeptical at first as we had heard rumors of a ‘kill centre’ and other horrific stories and then we met the manager there who speaks perfect English.

He explained that Son Reus is an ‘Adoption Centre’ and most dogs are re-homed pretty quickly apart from Pitt Bulls and similar deemed ‘dangerous breeds’ that you need to have licenses to be able to own them.  They are still re-homed, however it normally takes a little longer.

Son Reus is very clean and they have an ‘on-site’ vet that ensures all of the animals that are taken there are chipped immediately and vaccinated.

All of the dogs are walked regularly as there are many kind volunteers alongside the staff who walk the dogs in the gardens there.

There are absolutely stunning dogs waiting for new homes – as you will see below. Initially we wanted a small dog, however one of the team there informed us that large black dogs are considered unlucky in Spain and these are the ones that tend to find it more difficult to be re-homed.

So we ended up with a very large black German Pointer !!  🙂 ‘Bailey’ … the kindest most loving dog…

In Need of Loving Homes

The kennels are immaculately clean and all of the dogs are well looked after … but obviously they are frightened and desperately need loving homes.
